Gettin in the Groove!

Well my second week of school is over! THANK GOD!!! My math class starts at 7:00am so by the end of this week I finally feel that I'm getting in the groove.

All I can say to anyone who has just graduated high school, go to college when you are young! If you go straight from high school you can graduate college by the time you are 22. I would have to say that not completing college after high school is one of my life's regrets. Anyway I guess its better late than never. I'm looking forward to transferring up to Cal State East Bay and obtaining my teaching credential!!

Another kind of big event that has happened in our house is my mom and I have finally decided that its time to move on from home childcare. Our last family was going to go part time because of school starting so we both decided that after at least 20 years of childcare it time for a change. I have to say that I really enjoyed working and with my mom and building a successful childcare business. We have made some lifelong friends with some of the parents as well as a few of the kids, not kids anymore, so overall it really was a wonderful time in our lives. I still see many of the kids that we started as babies who are now in their twenties, yes I feel old, and they have all turned out to be wonderful adults. I'd like to think that I had a small part in that outcome. :) Too all the families that made our childcare a wonderful experience I want to say a huge thank you!!! As far as what we are going to do now, my mom has applied for a job with Kindago but hopes to eventually get a job with 4'Cs of Alameda. I am looking for something part-time so that I can finish school. So I have signed up to take a test to work for the after-school program for the school district near me.

Labor day we had a family barbecue at Nathan's. It was kind of a a goodbye to my dad who is off on another adventure. This time he is off the Grand Cannon. I told him that he had to create a blog so that we can all see pictures and hear about what is going on.

Yesterday was Samantha's back to school night. She really has a great teacher this year, I am so thankful! She is really outgoing, which for those of you who know Sam know that is right up her alley.

This weekend should be a pretty relaxed one. Sam is going with her mom for the weekend to see her Nana. Friday I am FINALLY going scrapping, it has been way too long!!!! It will be nice to be in air conditioning. Can I just say I am SICK of the HEAT!!!!!!

Tomorrow is also my best friend's birthday, 25 right vic? LOL Happy Birthday Girl!!! I hope you have a great day!
