The Sunny Side of Life

Christmas was wonderful this year!!! On Christmas Eve we went to my Grandma's house like we have done every year since I was born. This year was definitely different though, it was the first year my Grandpa was not there. It was so weird to sit in the living room and have his spot on the sofa empty. We all miss him very much!

Once everyone was there we had dinner and then opened presents. My Grandma read the story of Jesus birth from the bible. Then we had dessert and it was off to home and to bed.

Christmas morning we all gathered at Nathan's to open gifts. Everyone received lots of nice things. Samantha was spoiled as usual. :) Santa brought Samantha and Nathan a Wii, Wii fit and Animal Crossing. Besides the Wii items, her other favorite gifts were Bendaroos and a huge Hannah Montana Doll.

Once the presents were opened Nathan cooked us his traditional Pancake breakfast. With everyone full and a little tired naps were the next order of the day. Nathan lit a fire and then we all caught some zzzs. Once we woke up Mimi went and picked up Grammy and the other grown ups played some Wii fit. Then we finished the day with a fabulous dinner.

It was a great day!! I am so thankful for my wonderful family and the time we spend together. I hope all of you had a wonderful holiday and have a safe and Happy New Year!!!!
